Seeking Skilled Care in the Early Postpartum Introduction
The CHANGE Project adapted the set of tools to conduct and analyze qualitative research for early postpartum care. In partnership with Save the Children Federation in Guinea, CHANGE designed a behavior change intervention to increase early postpartum careseeking.

Trained community members interviewed women, mothers-in-law, husbands, village health committee members, traditional providers and skilled providers to explore the most acceptable ways to get women to early postpartum care and how to promote it. In Mandiana District, respondents believed that a trained traditional attendant could visit women at home during the first two weeks after birth.

Community groups reviewed the research results and designed behavior change intervention strategies appropriate to their local context.
