Mapping Competencies for Communication for Development and Social Change: Turning Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes into Action

This report is based on the conference “Competencies: Communication for Development and Social Change” held in 2002. It summarizes the week-long process to develop a “Functional Map” of the competencies needed in the field of Communication for Development and Social Change.

A group of researchers, teachers, and practitioners active in Communication for Development and Social Change considered the competencies that underlie the field. The purpose of the meeting was to begin the multi-step process of defining competencies. This will be used as the basis for creating competency-based curricula for education and training of professionals in the field. (more)

Health Communication: Lessons Learned and Challenges in Curriculum Development
 

This report summarizes the presentations and discussions at a conference in Peru. Experts in the fields of health and communications came together discuss the following questions:

  • What resources and needs are present in Peru and Latin American to accomplish such objectives?
